As a chemistry educator with over 20 years of experience, I have worked with many wonderful students, parents, and colleagues. Here is what they have said about me:
My son Sam (sophomore, biology major at UCSD) took Dr. Joshi’s organic chemistry prep course last summer. It made a HUGE difference in his experience as an organic chemistry student. Dr. Joshi gave him a great framework for how to study the material he would see over the next year, as well as an overview of important topics. The course is over Zoom, so it is easy to fit into a busy schedule. It was absolutely worth it! Sam has really enjoyed all three quarters of Organic Chemistry at UCSD, and he has done well.

I am currently starting my second year at Dartmouth, and I have officially completed the chemistry series for my pre-med requirements. I took organic chemistry this past summer at UC Santa Cruz...I would have been lost without the incredible foundation of chemical knowledge that I attribute to your incredible gift for teaching…I truly think I could have been weeded out of the pre-med chemistry classes here without having you as a teacher.

Dr. Joshi was great at helping me through the more difficult concepts in Organic Chemistry. The subject material did not come easily to me, but her instruction helped me visualize the concepts more easily than in my past experiences. She was instrumental in helping me ace the Organic Chemistry section of my graduate-school entrance exam. She was so kind to all the students, and I honestly looked forward to each class.

As a member of Dr. Joshi’s evaluation committee charged with assessing the quality of her teaching, I was privileged to see her grow and blossom as an outstanding instructor. She excelled in all areas of a superb teacher: firm grasp of the material she was presenting; enthusiasm for the topic that excited the students; understanding her audience; eagerness and ability to connect with the students; and clever and creative ways to make complex concepts straightforward and accessible. She challenges students in a positive and constructive manner, and she succeeds in developing them to their highest potential. She is an effective and inspiring teacher, and is a master at online instruction.
- Dr. Jan William Simek, Professor Emeritus of Chemistry, Cal Poly State U., San Luis Obispo (Apr 2021)
Dr. Joshi’s fantastic “roadmap” method helped me not only grasp chemistry, but it also showed me the value of being pragmatic and deliberate with my problem-solving approach. Many teachers preach “work smarter, not harder,” but Dr. Joshi will actually guide you on how you can be efficient and effective when faced with daunting problems.

Your high-school classes were the primary reason I chose to pursue a career in chemistry…Without your classes, I would not have done as well as I did in college. Furthermore, your genuine enthusiasm and love for your work are contagious and create a positive working environment. I always felt confident that my questions were welcomed and my effort was consistently rewarded. I would recommend your instruction as highly as possible to anyone considering it.
- JW, Parker and UCSD alum (Apr 2021)
I had Dr. Joshi as my instructor for high-school Advanced Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. Her lectures and her command of the subject were so exciting and inspirational that, despite majoring in English, I took two Chemistry courses and one Organic Chemistry course as a college freshman to keep that excitement alive.
- AD, Parker alum, senior at UCLA (Apr 2021)
I wanted to express my everlasting gratitude for all that you have done to prepare me for college and beyond…You have been one of my favorite teachers and taught me so much, all of which I will take with me to the next phase of my journey...especially the orgo notes :)
